The 40th Anniversary of Notre Dame Secondary School turned out to be a very important moment for the school's relationship with its alumni. After the official event, an alumni advisory council was established through an agreement between the school administration and the alumni members under the witness of Sr. Evangela and Sr. Miriam.

As per the provision in the agreement, the Council comprises a seven-member team, with the President, Secretary and two members elected or selected consensually from among the interested alumni present in the Alumni Meet event to be hosted by the school every two years. The other two members are appointed by the school administration from among the interested alumni on the basis of diversity, past commitment, qualifications and leadership qualities as far as possible. The remaining one member is appointed by the elected/selected president. Each council member has a two-year term and may be elected only for two terms.

The Council mainly works for:

1. Enhancing alumni engagement
2. Strengthening alumni network
3. Advising and coordinating for the overall advancement of the school, including fundraising and community engagement.

The agreement also decided to appoint the council members for the first time on the date of the school's 40th anniversary.
